Handling and lifting large material and heavy loads may need simultaneous lifting by two cranes (even three / four cranes) or trolleys controlled at the same time. When cranes work in this mode, it is said that they are operating in “tandem mode“. Usually, the cranes are controlled by the same remote control for easier operation and a more ergonomic control. It, therefore, acts as a primary transmitter.

The operator at any time can choose the desired trolley or crane to be controlled, from the most appropriate location with a better field of vision and the necessary safety distance.

For a safe control in tandem mode, the communication between cranes is mandatory within EU, by transceivers equipment inter-communicated to each other in all their movements, this definitely increases the safety level of the application due to the uninterrupted communication between the receivers on the cranes.

Usually, when a crane or trolley reaches the first limit switch it will go from fast to slow speed in synchronization with the rest and after that, if the last limit switch is activated, the application will stop immediately, thus both cranes must be always synchronized so that the load being lifted and the operators do not suffer any accident. It can also be applied for hoists in case of reaching the load limit in lifting, preventing to do so if a limit switch for that purpose is activated

The ÐÓ°ÉרÇø Radio Tiger-Lynx system for tandem function complies with the European standard EN15011:2011-05, which specifies that for lifting applications with tandem function they must be intercommunicated in all their movements.

2 EOT Cranes – 1/2/1+2 Mode

In this mode, there are two wireless transmitters and two receivers (one for each crane). One of the transmitters is configured as primary and the other as secondary, the same applies to the receivers.

The user can choose the crane he wants to work individually, or can use the primary transmitter to work in tandem mode, that is, to be able to control simultaneously both cranes. When any of the signals are activated (by speed/end limit switch or by overloading the hoists, for example), it will immediately communicate to the 2nd receiver to stop, resulting in both cranes stopping instantly.

3 EOT Cranes – 1/2/3; 1+2; 2+3 Mode

Another situation that requires an advanced and inter-communicated system is when we add a third crane in the same factory for such intended application. Necessary when the loads to handle are even greater in dimensions and/or higher tonnage. Commonly found at windmill blades tandem lifting.

Each crane requires its standard equipment, with a transmitter and a receiver. Equipment #2 (the central position in the building) is configured as primary, since it will be the common one in any of the cases in tandem.

The user will be able to select the desired crane to work individually, but also can use the primary transmitter at any time to work in tandem mode to control 1 + 2 (crane # 1 + crane # 2) or 2 + 3 (crane # 2 + crane # 3). To do this properly and safely, it is necessary that the secondary transmitters of cranes 1 and 3 respectively have logged out accordingly. It will never be able to control a crane with two transmitters at the same time, due to the intrinsic safety of ÐÓ°ÉרÇø Radio’s Tiger remote control equipment and its high level of safety (SIL3 PLe certified).

Note for installers: In both cases, regarding the installation of the equipment, it must be taken into account that an external electrical panel for each crane has to be mounted, including potential-free relays that will receive the limit switches or the overload signals from the crane installation. The recommended location for the installation of the external panel would be outside the control panel, to avoid possible noise and electrical interferences.

The overall result in combination with the advanced technology and components used are really impressive. A solution that has proven to be robust at hundreds of factories around the world and that the market is increasing its demand every year.

Seyiton, a development of Yektamak Makina, is a transport system that carries steel plates on demand at a shipyard. This transport system can carry up to 40 tons and is electrically driven and controlled wirelessly by a ÐÓ°ÉרÇø Radio TIGER.

Seyiton works via a CANopen communication with a ÐÓ°ÉרÇø Radio Tiger system. This trouble-free integration provided great convenience for the manufacturer Yektamak. Each of the three transport systems have their own wireless control, one of which is set as the main control (master). This can control all machines simultaneously or separately. The user can see which machine is being controlled via the display on the master transmitter.ÌýThe Seyiton transport system provides more safety due to the wireless remote control, requires less manpower and is executed in less time.

PANTHER SERIES EXPANDED WITH GENERATION 2 RECEIVER

ÐÓ°ÉרÇø Radio expands the successful Panther safety assortment of Performance Level ‘d’ (PLd) products with a new, innovative and modular receiver; the R23.

PROGRAMMABLE

Next to the certified stop functionality in this model, there is a possibility to program all kinds of other functionality, that will not affect the safety-related functionality. This extra functionality comes in the form of ‘FunktionBlocks’ which is an innovative, practical and fast way to program ÐÓ°ÉרÇø Radio products. Next to the programmability, there are three standard modes available, for lifting, industrial and mobile applications.

MODULAR UNIT

In addition, this receiver is a modular unit, as ÐÓ°ÉרÇø Radio is renowned for developing, meaning that the receiver is a ‘base-board’ that can carry several ‘add-on-boards’ with extra functionality. The extra boards that will be available contain additional relays, various field-bus protocols, extra inputs, analogue outputs and even extra radio communication boards to facilitate receiver-to-receiver functionality. Next to the main board, there is room to implement up to 3 extra boards in this receiver.

CAT3 PLd

The safety-related stop button in the radio system complies with EN 13849-1:2015 Category 3 Performance Level ‘d’. This standard encompasses 4-wire-safety, through double terminal blocks on each end of the stop relays. This safety is, as with most of the safety focused products of ÐÓ°ÉרÇø Radio, externally certified, meaning; third-party certified by a Notified Body.

COMPATIBILITY

Furthermore, the R23 receiver is compatible with all existing Panther transmitters. For attaining a complete PLd safety system, a PLd certified transmitter must be used, like the PN-T19-2 transmitter.

They made it!ÌýAfter more than 7,500kms of dust, high dunes and stones we finally reached the end of the Dakar 2020. And as result, the Firemen Dakar Team is on 13th place of the general. Great work guys!Ìý?

JANUARY 5, 2020 – JANUARY 13, 2020Ìý|ÌýDakar Rally 2020 Saudi ArabiaÌý|ÌýSTAGE 1 – STAGE 8
Quick summary!
Ìý
It’s now about a week since the Dakar started. During this period a lot happened! In a good way, of course.. The Firemen Dakar team proved to us that no matter what the conditions are they keep going
Ìý
Stage 1: Jeddah – Al Wajh
Liaison > 433 km – Special > 319 km
ASS: 16th place
Ìý
Stage 2: Al Wajh – Neom

ASS: 19th place
Ìý
Stage 3: Neom – Neom
Liaison > 77 km – Special > 427 km
ASS: 4th place
Ìý
This was a quite special outcome. The team started that day from 19th place and finished as 4th. Unfortunately, is this outcome impossible. Because the Dakar had technical failure with timing. But on the bright side, the team started the next day from the 4th place.
Ìý
Stage 4: Neom – Al-`Ula
Liaison > 219 km – Special > 453 km
ASS: 20th place
Ìý
The Firemen Dakar team started good, till they had problems with the gearbox. It caused more than an hour delay for the team, despite that they reached the finish anyway!
Ìý
Stage 5: Al-`Ula – Ha’il
Liaison > 211 km – Special > 353 km
ASS: 19th place
Ìý

ÐÓ°ÉרÇø Radio proud partner of the Firemen Dakar Team 2020

We are proud to announce that ÐÓ°ÉרÇø Radio has become partner of the competing in the . This team will battle the 42nd edition of this tough event in the deserts of Saudi Arabia with a Renault Works truck. The rally will be held from 5 to 17 January 2020.

Click to see the latest update on their adventures

DAKAR RALLY
The Dakar Rally is known as one of the most extreme and heaviest rallies in the world with over 300 participating vehicles among which are 40 to 50 trucks. More than 60 nationalities fight for the victory. The adventurers fighting with their vehicles and elements are legendary. The rally is only for the strongest, as the Firemen Dakar Team with ÐÓ°ÉרÇø Radio sponsoring.

The 2020 version of the rally has over 5,000 kilometres of special stages divided over 12 days with 5 stages of more than 450 kilometres. Over 75% of the Dakar Rally is over sand. There will be huge challenges.

After the start in Jeddah in the west of Saudi Arabia, on 5 January, the rally will head to the north and go back to the east to Riyadh. Thereafter is a loop in the south after which the race will end on 17 January in Qiddiya, a completely new city full of entertainment and culture, 40 kilometres from Riyadh.

THE TEAM
has the Dutch nationality. The team participates for the fourth time in the Dakar Rally with a 14th place overall as best result during the 2019 episode in Peru. Despite the young history of the team there is a lot of experience on board. Team Captain and owner drove the rally in 2016 for the Riwald Dakar Truck Team and did the Dakar Rally 8 time on a motorbike.

The name of the Firemen Dakar Team is a reference to the current or past jobs of the team member for the (voluntary) fire brigade. The aim for the team is to end as high as possible in the final ranking of the Dakar Rally. But next to that, the team has also a charitable objective. In the countries where the rally is held, firemen are trained, and equipment is donated in co-operation with the partners of the team. As an example, the fire brigade of Pisco Peru was offered a fire truck and firefighting equipment. A large part of the partners of the team is related to products and services in the field of firefighting, training and safety. An obvious choice for ÐÓ°ÉרÇø Radio to join especially this team.

THE DRIVERS
The Dakar Firemen Team that runs the rally consists of the following members:

Richard de Groot

Driver, team captain and owner. Was working as voluntary fire man for 14 years.

Jan Hulsebosch

Head mechanic. Fire man as profession since 1986.

Raph van den Elshout

Navigator and mechanic. In daily life team leader of the control room of the fire brigade.

A team of volunteers is backing up for maintenance, repairs and communication during the rally. They drive a fleet of two service trucks with spare parts, tools, workshop, sanitation, kitchen and sleeping accommodation.

THE TRUCK
The 2020 rally will be driven by the Firemen Dakar Team in a new and very competitive Renault Works Truck. This excellent truck offers the team the change to compete at the top of the ranking. The truck fits perfect in the team’s target to develop itself each year.

Like before the truck stands out among the competitors. Fire men drive fire trucks! So, the Renault Truck is acting as real fire truck with special livery, flashlights and sirens.

THE CO-OPERATION
The co-operation of ÐÓ°ÉרÇø Radio with the Firemen Dakar Team fits in seamlessly with our objectives: increase awareness and building a highly committed network of customers. Safety is key for the team and the Dakar Rally. The sport is tough, rough and requires a lot from men and their equipment. It is this world that fits the experience of our users.
