La télécommande TIGER de Ӱר Radio fournit un retour d’information en temps réel des instruments à bord du sous-marin. Mais ce n’est pas la seule raison de choisir ce système de télécommande radio. An easy job with the help of Ӱר Radio remote control

It is Jurgen Knoop’s daily job to lay steel dock boards. In the past the laying of a full truck of dock boards took quite some time, now it can be done in half the time. Thanks to the industrial remote control of Ӱר Radio.

Transport company Derks in Bemmel is specialized in earthmoving, exceptional transport and through Derks Dock Boards in the rental and laying dock boards. Jurgen Knoop is driver on one of the trucks.

“We are laying dock boards for all kinds of purposes like festivals and events for example the Four Days Marches in Nijmegen, along the side of a road when a truck has fallen over, on construction sites and also a lot in clay pits. With our dump trucks we daily drive clay to stone factories.”

GINAF WITH PALFINGER AND TELE RADIO
For the dock boards transport is Jurgen the regular driver on a five-axle Ginaf with Palfinger loader crane. “In the past the laying of a full load of dock boards was quite a job. But since I use the Ӱר Radio remote control it is done in half the time. With the Ӱר Radio remote control I can drive the truck while sitting on the loader crane. That saves time as I don’t have to get off and on the loader crane for moving the truck.”The Ginaf was equipped with the Ӱר Radio remote control one and a half year ago. Before that, Jurgen had another remote control system. This system had interference near other systems and was unreliable due to this. Very irritating and dangerous. Our oldest truck was equipped with pedals on the loader crane for moving the truck. Fine in itself but, as it was a wired control, the cable was regularly broken which caused malfunctions.”

PRECISE AND RELIABLE
Jurgen is very positive about the Ӱר Radio remote control. Truck dealer Van Ginkel did the installation. It works smoothly, interference free, very precise and absolutely reliable. From any location I can move the truck, sitting on the loader crane, but also standing next to the truck. Besides the system is robust and 100% safe.” Jurgen shows that the casing is stupid proof and that the system exactly does what he wants. Moving can be done to a single centimetre. When Jurgen releases the joystick, the truck stops immediately.Jurgen shows that he can drive forwards and backwards with the remote control, can steer and accelerate from a slope. The maximum speed is 5 km/h. Driving is only done in first gear. “When I laid a couple of dock boards and I need to move the truck, I grab the remote control and can see the front of my truck on a screen that is on my loader crane.” There are no sensors on the Ginaf truck. This is done on purpose. “Often we have to move through narrow spaces. Sensors limit the possibilities.”

D’une manière générale, l’ergonomie concerne la conception de l’environnement de travail de manière à ce que les personnes puissent réaliser leur travail en toute sécurité, efficacement et confortablement. À cet effet, cette discipline tient compte de tous les sens pour y parvenir. Les couleurs peuvent, par exemple, contribuer à un environnement calme ou servir d’avertissement, les sons ne doivent pas être trop forts et certainement pas pendant longtemps, et le corps humain ne doit pas être surchargé ou chargé pendant une trop longue période.

Dans ce contexte, l’ergonomie joue un rôle dans nos télécommandes sans fil. En premier lieu, le caractère sans fil de ces éléments eux-mêmes est un aspect ergonomique de l’environnement de travail. Il offre à l’utilisateur la possibilité d’utiliser des grues ou d’autres équipements à la distance la mieux adaptée, d’une manière confortable et dans un environnement agréable. L’absence de câble lui permet également de se placer là où il a la meilleure vue d’ensemble de la situation. Cela aussi profite à la sécurité et à l’efficacité.

Robuste et intuitive

De plus, nos concepteurs ont accordé la plus grande attention à l’ergonomie des télécommandes elles-mêmes. Une conception robuste qui s’adapte bien à la main prévient la fatigue prématurée et la surcharge des doigts, des bras et du dos. La surface est agréable et lisse, mais suffisamment rugueuse pour fournir la préhension requise. Ceci s’applique aussi bien aux télécommandes individuelles qu’aux versions avec manette que l’utilisateur porte devant le ventre.

De plus, la disposition et la fonction des touches peuvent être configurées de la manière la plus flexible possible et peuvent être entièrement programmées par nos soins selon vos souhaits. Pour que l’utilisateur puisse effectuer son travail de manière intuitive, sûre et efficace. Les boutons peuvent aussi donner une double information : un clic permet de mettre l’appareil en service, donc d’activer la fonction choisie, et lorsque vous sentez un deuxième clic, cela implique que la vitesse va augmenter quand cela sera possible et nécessaire.

La sécurité en tant que compétence essentielle

Axées sur la sécurité, les solutions de Pilz se déclinent dans un large éventail d’applications. Par exemple, dans les infrastructures (ponts et écluses) et l’industrie, mais aussi dans l’alimentation, la pharmacie et le chemin de fer. Commande à distance de ponts

En 2017, un client a demandé à Pilz de développer un système de commande standard, avec logiciel et documentation, adapté à la commande de différents types de ponts. L’idée sous-jacente est qu’une commande universelle avec une solution de contrôle et un logiciel standard simplifient la maintenance et permet donc de réduire les coûts. Cela signifie en outre que les collaborateurs ne doivent se familiariser qu’à un seul mode d’exploitation et que le déploiement sur des sites différents est ainsi simplifié.

Une des exigences était l’utilisation d’une télécommande sans fil pour contrôler les ponts localement. Cette dernière assure non seulement l’ouverture et la fermeture du pont, mais aussi le contrôle sécurisé du trafic par l’intermédiaire de la signalisation terrestre et maritime ainsi que des barrières.

Ӱר Radio met à disposition des postes radio

Ӱר Radio, qui, comme Pilz, recherche toujours la qualité maximale, a réfléchi dès le début avec eux à la meilleure solution. Une télécommande radio a été immédiatement mise à disposition, répondant entre autres aux exigences de certification, de robustesse et d’ergonomie.

Le poste radio a d’abord été testé dans une salle d’essai spéciale près de Pilz, où le système de commande du pont est conçu pour simuler une configuration complexe. Dans cet environnement critique, la télécommande a été jugée en fonction de sa facilité d’utilisation et de la meilleure façon de communiquer avec Pilz PLC.

Solution finale

La télécommande radio finalement choisie est conçue de manière robuste pour une utilisation pratique sur tous les sites. La portée du signal radio est réglable, la télécommande dispose d’un arrêt d’urgence certifié (SIL3/PLe) et d’un message de défaut. Les LED à côté des boutons poussoirs guident automatiquement l’opérateur à travers la séquence correcte des étapes lors de l’ouverture ou de la fermeture d’un pont. Ergonomie et sécurité maximale obtenue.

Ӱר Radio’s global reach and large distribution networks of its own subsidiaries and partners are further strengthened by the establishment of a subsidiary in Russia. The Russian market for industrial radio control is deemed to have great development potential where the company’s innovative solutions combined with local presence create great opportunities.

 

Ӱר Radio operates globally and delivers industrial radio control to customers in the industrial, mobile and mining markets, all with high demands on functionality and security. The Russian economy is strongly characterized by industry, including machine manufacturing, mines and forestry. Industrial production’s share of GDP in 2018 was approximately 32 percent, corresponding to USD 528 billion. Ӱר Radio believes that the Russian market has good growth potential, partly due to continued economic growth, but also as customers become more sophisticated through increasing efficiency in the industry. which contributes to good demand for radio control.

Operations in Russia include the CIS countries* and will be led by Karl Norman. He has a solid experience of the Russian market where he has worked and lived for over 15 years.

Remote control manufacturer Ӱר Radio has opened a new facility in São Paulo, Brazil in response to ongoing demand from the region.

Ӱר Radio Brazil will become one of 16 global operations but, as a subsidiary of the U.S. company, it is the first to serve as a branch of a regional operation. The new site will be located in Itupeva, São Paulo strategically positioned close to Viracopos / Campinas International Airport and major transport networks.

The company has named Laercio Neves managing director of the operation. He brings 18 years of experience in sales management to the role, working for multinational companies that operate in Brazil. Neves speaks Portuguese, English, and Spanish, and already boasts a thorough knowledge of industrial automation and remote control systems. An electronic engineer, he has a degree in maintenance management and an MBA in business management.

Neves, who will be joined by sales, technical support and administration staff in due course, said: “I am very excited to be part of the Ӱר Radio family and I believe the Brazil operation will soon become the chosen provider of radio remote control systems in the country, due to the extremely robust and safe product portfolio, which is backed by outstanding local support.”

Miguel Tellez, managing director at Ӱר Radio America LLC, said: “We have been active in Brazil for over a decade now, both through distributors buying from the U.S. and in terms of customers buying machinery in other countries and incorporating our radio controls. However, as demand continues to grow and Brazil looks set to be a hotbed of activity in the long term, it’s important to take our presence to the next level and provide the region with a greater volume of local product and support.”

Ӱר Radio Brazil will offer the full range of radio remote controls, including the Panther system, which is popular with electric overhead traveling (EOT) cranes and other industrial applications. The primary benefit of the Panther line is safety; in accordance with Cat3-Pld standard, transmitters send repeated ‘stay-alive pulses’ to the receiver, prompting the safety relay(s) to drop if the receiver loses ‘sight’ of the transmitter’s ping (out of range, dead battery, broken transmitter, etc.).

Neves added: “Overhead cranes are a niche market in which Ӱר Radio is strong worldwide and while that trend will be replicated here in Brazil, we are keen to present the entire range of equipment as remote control solutions for mining, mobile, construction, industrial, and other applications. We are now in a position to put the range closer to the point of use than ever before.”

Ӱר Radio U.S. will provide technical and sales support as the Brazil entity establishes itself in the market.

Discover the possibilities with Ӱר Radio at MATEXPO 2019

Under the name ‘Basic Line’, Ӱר Radio is announcing three new standard models to augment the TEQ range of wireless remote controls for the mobile industrial and hydraulic sector. Built exclusively from standard components, this new line-up fulfils the most essential requirements for applications in the field of industrial remote control,at an attractive price for features and quality at this level. From 11‑15 September in Kortrijk Xpo – on stand R11 – Ӱר Radio offers visitors an opportunity to experience all the possibilities of these ergonomic products, which are so important to safe and efficient operation of industrial machinery.

Drawing on its extensive experience with the original, fully-customisable TEQ remote control units, Ӱר Radio has now developed a new series built exclusively from standard components: the Basic Line.This development makes the transmitters and receivers suitable for mass-production, which in turn drives down the cost price.Even so, this standard series can meet the needs of 9 out of 10 industrial applications!

Of course, the Basic Line also employs reliable RFID technology, it can be connected to standard bus systems, and if necessary, the wireless range can be extended indefinitely by means of repeaters.

Construction

The complete Basic Line consists of three standard bellybox transmitters (T24-01, T26-02 and T26-03), plus two standard receivers (R20-01 and R21-01). The transmitters feature a black faceplate with white markings, and all models include haptic alarm signalling and two-way communication to facilitate feedback. They also have an M12 cable connector and a large, full-colour display. Power is supplied internally by two Li-ion batteries (charger included), or externally via the 12/24 VDC socket or a 100/240 VAC adapter.

The transmitters come in two sizes: the mid-sized T24, and the two smaller T26 models. Further differences between the three models lie in the number of side buttons, and two of the three have a Cat 3, PLd certified emergency stop feature.

Receivers

The two receivers can be linked to one of the three transmitters, depending on the application. The plug-in type R20-01 provides 26 preconfigured I/Os, PWM for proportional valve control, and an integrated 35-pin connector with 2m cable.The R21-01 is equipped with four preconfigured I/Os, an M12 connector with CANopen serial communication, and an M20 cable gland.

Applications

Safe discharging of a bitumen tanker with a Panther PLd system

Kässbohrer is Europe’s fastest growing trailer producers due to their quality and innovative solutions in chassis building. Many transport companies make us of the Kässbohrer solutions for the transport of goods for decades.

The manufacturer co-operates with Ӱר Radio for the development of various wireless solutions on trailers. The systems are easy to install and reliable and really contribute to the safety and comfort. For the Kässbohrer tippers they use a wired and wireless control for the front cylinder that tilts the box and opens the rear door. The Ӱר Radio Panther 3 buttons transmitter can be used from the cabin as well as outside on a safe distance.

The increased safety by using a wireless remote control can even be better viewed with the bitumen tank trailer that is developed in co-operation with Hoyer Logistics GMBH. For the charging and discharging the driver/operator can use a wired control system attached to the trailer. But with the hot and flammable bitumen the operator needs to respect a safe zone of approximately 6 meters. This is simply possible by using a Panther PLd wireless remote. The user is at a safe distance, has a good view on the trailer, and is able to close the valves immediately and run a away in case of emergency. Based on this innovation Kässbohrer deserved the IAA Trailer Innovation Award 2017 in the category safety.

The importance of a Notified Body for your safety

When it comes to safety, people often use the term ‘notified body’ to refer to an independent safety assessment agency.But what exactly does this term mean, and why should it matter to us?

A Notified Body – also known as NB or nobo – literally means a designated assessment organisation.This is an inspection or testing institute designated by national governments to assess whether products conform to the relevant national and European directives.In the Netherlands, it is usually the Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment who designate these organisations, and ‘notify’ them to Brussels.Some familiar names in the Netherlands are Kiwa, Dekra, Lloyd’s, Liftinstituut, TüV and KEMA.In addition, Dutch companies are also free to use NBs in other European countries.

Many companies are authorised to self-assess their products for conformity with the applicable legislation and regulations, based on which they may apply a CE mark.However, for products with a heightened risk, it is mandatory to use an NB.For example, when it concerns medical or radio equipment, or components that must be guaranteed safe to use in a hazardous environment.The manufacturer may only CE‑mark their product when the NB has granted the product a positive assessment –the conformity assessment.

The involvement of a Notified Body has an important added value for both manufacturers and users, because it means that an independent party has confirmed the product quality.Ӱר Radio therefore willingly engages Notified Bodies to assess its products, as this means it can guarantee safety in critical applications.Of course, Ӱר Radio can always show the official certificate to any party that needs to see proof – and not every supplier is able to do that.
