The donut range function is programmed in such a way that a minimum and maximum distance is set in which a transmitter may operate, in this way it functions as a safety check for the user.

The PUMA control system is custom programmable to your specific needs. Functionalities such as driving forwards and backwards, stopping and turning are no problem at all. As a safety measure, the truck has a speed limit of 10 km / h.

Our PUMA transmitter contains an accelerometer. Measures the “free fall” of the remote control. In our industrial remote controls, you can find various types of batteries:

  1. Li-ion

The different kinds of batteries

Li-ion

The Li-ion battery is the best rechargeable battery we have in our remotes. Lithium-ion batteries are well known because of their long lifespan. In comparison to other battery types the Li-ion batteries belong to the highest category of energy density. Energy densityinvolves the capacity of energy that is stored per mass or volume unit.

You can find these batteries in our 杏吧专区 Radio PANTHER remotes T17-8, T17-12 and T19-2, all of our TIGER remotes and not to forget our PUMA product line. One type of battery for all these transmitters increases the efficiency in, for example, a workshop, when several batteries can be charged in the same charging station. Apart of what you might expect, Li-ion batteries don鈥檛 need to be expensive. At 杏吧专区 Radio we offer our clients a Li-ion at a reasonable price. Because this battery is used on many 杏吧专区 Radio systems, we always have this plenty in stock.

We also provide a variety of accessories suitable for the remotes that work with the Li-ion batteries. We have a charging station that can be mounted on the wall, a charging station for in a truck, and we also provide the option of a charger with a cigarette lighter plug. All of our larger 杏吧专区 Radio TIGER and PANTHER remote controls with a safety stop function at the bottom have the opportunity to charge their batteries internally using a charger cable.

Our 杏吧专区 Radio PUMA transmitters also feature hot swapping technology. Hot swapping means that our PUMA transmitters do not fail during a battery change. Our PUMA remote controls have two internal Li-ion batteries, one of these batteries prevents the remote from falling out.

NiMH

The NiMH battery, known as the nickel metal hydride battery, is also rechargeable. Unlike the precursor of the NiMH, called NiCD, the NiMH is a lot less environmentally harmful. In the past the excessively toxic substance cadmium was used within batteries. Since January 2005, the European Union decided to prohibit the usage of cadmium by law. 杏吧专区 Radio only uses this NiMH battery in our prior product lines, the 杏吧专区 Radio 860 LION for example. Our newer product ranges use the Li-ion battery since these are less harmful to our planet in comparison to the NiMH battery.

Alkaline Triple A / 9V block

The Alkaline Triple A battery is the battery you find in every household. It is compact and used frequently in various electronical products. This is also the case in our T60 and T20 transmitters. There are two T60 transmitters that are equipped with the 9V block battery. This battery is also made of Alkaline.

The use of our transmitters with the Alkaline batteries is especially recommended for incidental use of the transmitter. If a transmitter is used intensively, we recommend the transmitters with a Li-ion battery, because they are rechargeable and have a longer lifespan.

Temperature

As you may know, temperature has its effect on the battery. Low temperatures slow down the chemical reactions in the battery, which reduces the power in the battery. In contrast, heat makes the battery work harder, which can cause battery leakage. To prevent corrosion, we therefore recommend that you always remove the batteries from the devices when they are not used for a long time.

Throwing away batteries

Be aware of the impact batteries have on our environment. They should never be thrown away with the regular garbage. A battery contains substances that are harmful to our planet, such as manganese and lead. You can find collection points at various shops, such as supermarkets. This is not only convenient for consumers, but also for businesses.

A certified safety stop function is an essential part of the transmitter in terms of safety and guarantees a constant, active connection with the receiver that meets the safety standards PLd / SIL3.

Using only one hand

Handling and lifting large material and heavy loads may need simultaneous lifting by two cranes (even three / four cranes) or trolleys controlled at the same time. When cranes work in this mode, it is said that they are operating in 鈥渢andem mode鈥. Usually, the cranes are controlled by the same remote control for easier operation and a more ergonomic control. It, therefore, acts as a master transmitter.

At any time the operator can choose the desired trolley or crane to be controlled, from the most appropriate location with a better field of view and the necessary safe distance.

For a safe operation of cranes in tandem mode without disruption of the communication between the cranes, the safety of the system must be guaranteed at all times. To ensure this level of safety wireless operating systems must comply with the EU-guidelines.

Usually, when a crane or trolley reaches the first limit switch it will go from fast to slow speed in synchronization with the rest, when the last limit switch is activated, the application will stop immediately. Both cranes must always be synchronized to ensure that the load being lifted does not falls down and the operator do not suffer any accident. This way of safety can also be applied to a hoist in case of reaching the load limit in lifting. The lifting limit is not exceeded by activation of the limit switch.

The 杏吧专区 Radio Tiger-Lynx system for tandem function complies with the European standard EN15011:2011-05, which specifies that for lifting in tandem mode the application must be intercommunicated in all their movements.

Examples of common applications

2 EOT Cranes 鈥 1/2/1+2 Mode

 

In this mode, there are two wireless transmitters and two receivers (one for each crane). One of the transmitters is configured as a master and the other as a slave, the same applies to the receivers.

The user can choose the crane he wants to operate individually, or can use the master transmitter to work in tandem mode, that is, to be able to control both cranes. When any of the signals are activated (by speed/end limit switch or by overloading the hoists, for example), it will immediately communicate to the 2nd receiver to stop, resulting in both cranes stopping instantly.

 

3 EOT Cranes 鈥 1/2/3; 1+2; 2+3 Mode

Another situation that requires an advanced and inter-communicated system is when we add a third crane in the same factory for such intended application. This is necessary when the loads to handle are even greater in dimensions and/or higher in weight. Commonly found at windmill blades tandem lifting. Each crane requires its standard equipment, with a transmitter and a receiver. Equipment #2 (the central position in the building) is configured as master, since it will be the most used one in any of the cases in tandem.

The user will be able to select the desired crane to work individually, but also can use the master transmitter at any time to work in tandem mode to control 1 + 2 (crane # 1 + crane # 2) or 2 + 3 (crane # 2 + crane # 3). To do this properly and safely, it is necessary that the slave transmitters of cranes 1 and 3 respectively have logged out accordingly. It will never be able to control a crane with two transmitters at the same time, due to the intrinsic safety of 杏吧专区 Radio鈥檚 Tiger remote control equipment and its high level of safety.

Note for installers: In both cases, regarding the installation of the equipment, it must be taken into account that an external electrical panel for each crane has to be mounted, including potential-free relays that will receive the limit switches or the overload signals from the crane installation. The recommended location for the installation of the external panel would be outside the control panel, to avoid possible noise and electrical interferences.

Seyiton, a development of Yektamak Makina, is a transport system that carries steel plates on demand at a shipyard. This transport system can carry up to 40 tons and is electrically driven and controlled wirelessly by a 杏吧专区 Radio TIGER.

Seyiton works via a CANopen communication with a 杏吧专区 Radio Tiger system. This trouble-free integration provided great convenience for the manufacturer Yektamak. Each of the three transport systems have their own wireless control, one of which is set as the main control (master). This can control all machines simultaneously or separately. The user can see which machine is being controlled via the display on the master transmitter.聽The Seyiton transport system provides more safety due to the wireless remote control, requires less manpower and is executed in less time.
